I’m sitting here with a dog under my feet, one up against the back of my chair and the other less than eight feet away. If I move I’m going to disturb someone. So what do I do? I take out my camera to snap a picture and that disturbs some one, but not the dog at my feet who is still sound asleep. Her name is Zoe with two dots over the E. But as they don’t have  Key-caps for my computer anymore, and I can’t remember key strokes for five minutes at a time, I don’t know how to actually get the two dots over the e!

I’ve been very busy lately. It’s a good thing to be working. Pay checks come in very handy when buying groceries. But my new position is not conducive to writing. I’m flat out busy all the time. Plus there are the children to drive around, and dances to chaperone.  It’s very hard on the writing, promoting routine. Luckily today the DH has taken three of the four children out of the house for the day. The fourth will shortly drive herself to school and get on the bus to a cross country meet.

All this so I can write.

This is why you are getting pictures of dogs. But stay tuned, Monday I’m posting my new first pages for Glimmer Girls for you to read. I’m afraid it’s not as captivating as it should be – but you can tell me. Until then – Zoe with two dots over the e.

You should count yourselves grateful that I didn’t post pictures of all three dogs! I tried but when Moose heard the camera he got up and moved away. It’s Monday and the new post is up. New beginning – hope you like it.

Hey, I’m good with dog pictures too! (Also right there with Lora, all smart-assed and everything.)

First off, I’m not a dog person. Not that I haven’t had them around all my life. My mother loves black labs. In fact, she tells a story of how, when I was young of age and mindless to such social faux pas, our lovely Blue was my personal Nanny McPhee, and my 3-year-old self would follow around behind the dog in rounds of the back yard, my small fingers tightly clinging to the dog’s dangling bits. (I’ve been assured that Betties don’t judge)

Anyhow…now, I, a professed cat person, have nurtured a black lab of my own since “Thor” brought home a little black ball of fluff 4 years ago, assuring me that this dog wouldn’t get over 15-20 pounds (coughs). The dog is happiest when she’s lying on her back in my lap like a baby. Mind you, she’s a good 85-90 pounds now. It’s like holding “Puppy”.

The moral of this story is that, when I saw that picture of your dog, all I wanted to do was scratch his/her belly. You go ahead and write. Enjoy the quiet, productive time. I can’t wait to read the fruits of your weekend labor.

I can’t wait to read the pages! Glad that DH got off his arse. Oh, was that rude to mention? Sorry. Perhaps should change name to SmartAss Betty….

I think Zoe-with-two-dots-over-the-e looks very peaceful.

I’ll take that and gladly! You do what you need to. I’ve been feeling the lack of pay checks recently. Can’t wait to get a job. Good luck with the writing.
