What I would have posted last week if I’d had internet

in Entertaining nonsense and profound thought

Day one at the cape. It is pouring rain, so I don’t think we’ll make it to the beach today. It’s Wednesday, and I haven’t posted on the blog at all this week, and not much last week either. Last week was the graduation. It was a lovely ceremony, and my PiePie did a fabulous job as valedictorian and her party was nice. Then it was over.

But I still had to go back to work for a day and half. Somehow I got busy, and I think we watched evening movies so I didn’t blog. Bad me.

Now I’m at the cape and there is no internet so I’ll have to go to the library to post on the blog. At the moment I’m feeling too tired, but maybe later. If I don’t run out of battery – I forgot the power cord for the computer. Yep, I’m batting a thousand.

It’s raining pretty steadily today. Which doesn’t really matter, I stayed up most of the night reading a Kristin Higgins book. I finished it. It made me both laugh and cry. But it was close to 5am when I finally went to bed. I can do that on the cape. There is no one here to tell me I can’t take a nap.

So I’m thinking I’ll post a review of the Kristin Higgins book. I don’t at this moment remember the title (no sleep) but I’ll power up the kindle later and say something. Mostly positive although I did find the voice a little distant. Obviously not terribly distant or I wouldn’t have stayed up all night reading. Would I?

The good thing about no internet is that I can’t be distracted. The bad thing is – I can’t be distracted. I need to post blogs and respond to emails and I have to go to the local library to do that. I’ve just realized that I didn’t bring my camera either, so if there are to be photos I’ll have to take them with my phone. It’s all good. It really is.

One of these days when you are bogged down with tasks you have to do on the internet you will have those memories of no internet service to remember fondly.

Didn’t realize Callan was the valdictorian, but I suppose we all knew she would be when she was 3 years old!

You know, that sounds like an absolutely wonderful vacation to me.
