Once again it’s Monday morning and I haven’t got a post up. I really must try harder, I know, but let me tell you what happened.
At three o’clock on Sunday afternoon I decided I had to paint my kitchen cupboards. Two of the doors had fallen off anyway and I figured while I was fixing them I could paint them too. You know how you can paint a window closed? I’m kind of hoping adding paint to the glue will give it a little more umph. No, that’s not right. Layering paint over the glue is what I mean, not mixing the paint with the glue.
This isn’t the first time I’ve had to fix the doors and it lasted a while when I did it before, but not long enough.
I think we have a habit of resting our weight on the handle as we search for things. When I say we, I really mean me, but I don’t want to take the whole blame for the door debacle. And the other door was definitely not me. I think.
Anyway, I glued the doors and primed them. Then I figured I could get quite a lot of the rest of them done so I took a few more doors and a couple of drawers out and did them too. Pretty soon I was painting the face of the cabinets too. I managed three coats before I had to stop for the night. I really don’t have that many cabinets. It’s a strange kitchen. I used to only have counter space the size of the top of a dishwasher, but last summer we improved some and it’s a little better now.
So there you go. I have painted cabinets. You, however, are left without a blog. But really, you have better things to do than read about my weekend – right? And if you’re lucky you’ll get photos.

I so want to see photos. This entire episode you just described is entirely beyond me. Remember way back on the other blog where you said you fixed the fence? Yeah well, this makes you fabulous in my eyes. (And we won’t even mention your wonderful writing talent.) That WAS a blog post, it was entertaining, and it was up. So, there ya go, accomplished TWO things!
Does waiting in line at costco for turkeys count as doing something productive?
Of course! One Turkey is enough for andy weekend.
