The Living Room Re-Do – Finally the Finish

in Entertaining nonsense and profound thought, Writing Life

All right. This is where I left you last week:

The desk/table is still in the middle of the room. And there isn’t enough room beside the piano for the treadmill (That I’d dearly love to put out in the garage!) So I shoved things around a little bit and came up with this:

I realize I still have to clear off the table and find places for the misc. junk/computers/office supplies, but still it’s better. I don’t have the love seat floating around in the middle of the room and most of the dog hair has been removed. Not all, because every time I turn around there’s more. The big Yellow Moose sheds like anything. I also have a folding screen of pictures that I need to find a safe place for.

The table slides out easily so if someone should want to use the treadmill (hah!) they can with very little effort. (Really we should clear out the back of the garage and put in an exercise room and a studio/workshop for me. That would alleviate a lot of the clutter around here.

Next it’s on to my bedroom which needs a major overhaul. Mostly because the center of the house is sinking (besides the house jacks a contractor put in place), and my head is downhill on my bed. Don’t like it so i’m sleeping backwards. Time to change the room. Too much junk, too much furniture. You can look forward to that discussion! What will I be willing to part with?

Skye, I’m actually thinking of building a studio in the upper level of the barn. Better natural light…

Well, kudos for the amount of work it took to change the living room! It looks much better. I’m surprised the house jack isn’t solving the sinking problem. Time to adjust it? Change contractors? That’s gonna tear the house apart if it keeps up.

It would be great if you had your own space to write and spread out your materials. Probably cold as hell in the garage during a Vermont winter, but there are some great space heaters on the market.
