Pink and Green Flower Pots

April 13, 2011 · 5 comments

I have been spending a lot of time working on centerpieces. It turns out making 20 candy fireworks displays is pretty time intensive. I’ve been re-wrapping, twisting wire, adding longer sticks and doing my dangedest to make those candy wrappers behave. My fingers hurt.

On top of that I’m painting flower pots for floral centerpieces for Saturday’s lunch. Pink and Green. Polka dots and stripes. Paint takes time to dry. Luckily once they are finished all I have to do is shove Styrofoam and flowers into them and they are done. Unlike the candy ones which I’m going to take up to my friend’s house so we can have an assembly party. Thank the stars for friends who are willing to help with fiddly assembly of color!

I bought shiny stars to scatter on the tables with the candy centerpieces, and shells to scatter for the flowers. We will be by the sea so that seemed appropriate. Also lots of shiny confetti to scatter around for all meals. Hopefully it will all look good and people will be thrilled when they win centerpieces after the meals.

I just posted my blog about your books. At the bottom I threaten to plot to get you to write faster. Then I come here to see that you rival Crusie with things to do other than write. Oh that pesky life we have to live!
Looks like potential for fun in the making of your centerpieces. Fun is good. We like fun.

You should post a link to your blog CC/B. To tell you the truth I’d love to write faster! Can you send somebody over to taxi my kids around and make them dinner? I guarantee that would help!

Wow! I would be thrilled to take one of those home. And yay, sea shells make everything better (if you can’t have frosting or bacon).
