Here is a close up of the light around the clouds, up close it’s just paint. It doesn’t glow at all. (You may have to take my word for it – I’m not sure how this will look on the computer screen.)











But step away again and it glows.







See? Magic.

My favorite artist of all is Maxfield Parrish. The lighting, the colors, and the glow astound me again and again. It’s a gift to be able to do such a magical thing with mere paint.
