So here you go Julie! I didn’t think to take photos of the broken doors. But I fixed two doors before I painted. The first picture is the new yellow. Please ignore the junk everywhere – I have four kids. The junk never ends.
The second picture is the old color. My kitchen is so dark to begin with and the wood just sucked up the remaining light. I want to take out the low ceiling, but it will be a big and messy project and my husband objects. As does my MIL. But one of these days I’ll send DH and kids out camping and when they come back I’ll have an exposed beam ceiling. That will help with the cave like feeling.
My house is old and I can touch the ceiling in every room. I really wish I could raise the ceiling in every room, but I can’t see that happening any time soon. I’ll have to be content with paint for now.
Oh, and a reminder – Buy a book from an independent bookseller. Let’s keep them in business.

wow, love the color. What is it? I’m looking for something about that shade for our downstairs bathroom. After spending an entire summer painting 3 years ago, I haven’t painted since, but we have a couple of rooms that are 15+ years since their last coat of paint. Will probably do it in Jan.
I’m not really sure what the color is called Barb. I took a piece of siding from my house and had it color matched at the local hardware store. I’ll see if I can find out for you.
Ohmygawd I made a headline! Thanks!!!
The yellow is fabulous! And I don’t usually like yellow, but that is outstanding. You did such a great job. Now I am even more in awe of your skilz!
(I never even noticed the junk, had my own tribe of mess-makers, they may move out, but their shit never does.)
Hey, those cupboards now match your blog.
Click on the picture of the yellow cabinets to get a more comprehensive view. I’ve left my password at home and can’t get in to change the picture so you can see it all on the page. Bummer.
