So here’s the deal. I sent the first forty-five pages of Glimmer Girls(the mermaid story) to my dream agent last Monday. If you look back I think you’ll find I already told you that. The good news is that MDA(my dream agent) responded last Friday. So she must have read it as soon as she got it. That’s really nice.
The bad news is that she can’t get excited about it. So I’m shot down in flames by the one person I was trying to impress when I wrote it. Luckily several Beta Readers (you know who you are) have liked it. The approval keeps total despair at bay, but still.
The thing is I really like this agent personally. I respect her work. I think she’d be a great person to work with and I think she could help my career. So I’m understandibly disappointed that I haven’t gotten in right yet. If she liked it I’d feel I’d reached a certain milestone in my craft.
Ah well, life goes on. There are many more agents to query and many more stories to tell, so there’s always hope. But still.
Oh and one other thing. If my blogs don’t show up when they should it’s not my fault. It’s nearly impossible for me to get on the Internet when I want to these days. Must get a wireless Mac for the house.

Thanks Ladies,
I do subscribe to that belief, but every so often I forget and want things to work out my way!
Well that sucks. But chin up, as Julie said “…everything happens when it is supposed to”
The christians say that when god closes a door he opens a window (or the other way around, not sure) and we pagans say that everything happens when it is supposed to. Much the same reasoning. So take heart, you are an amazing writer, and you will find the exact place for this book…. or the place/person will find you. I promise.
