The key representing the last letter of the alphabet has stopped functioning on my laptop.  And yes, I popped the key off and cleaned the chocolate and dog hair out from underneath it. No dice. The last letter wouldn’t work even with the key removed.

I don’t even use that letter that much – not like the E or the S or the T. If one of those letters stopped working it would at least have a good reason.  Still the missing letter is crucial and the loss of it is going to make things very interesting in a not very expedient way.

rats.

Wait…. didn’t you just GET this machine?

I wear out letters on keyboards; partly because we never buy new shit, and also because I type a lot, or heavily (could possibly be both).

I’ve had it a year and a half, I think. So no, the letters shouldn’t be wearing out yet! However, most people don’t have dogs that walk on thier keyboards so maybe I shouldn’t complain.

Sucks when that happens. I agree with the inexpensive external keyboard solution. And maybe some other cleaning ideas, like with alcohol and maybe using some canned air to blow out the keyboard. Just in case.

Good luck!

Zedbra. I lived in Canada for a while as a child where Zs (I copied yours above) are called Zed. So a Zebra was a Zedbra in my family. Because I thought it was silly to call a Z a Zed.

Sounds like you might need to get a cheap external keyboard.
They make tiny ones for 7″ tablets that would be more mobile ….
In the meantime, google it?
Good luck.
