Free Audio Book!

in Freebies, Giveaway

Don’t you love good news?

Audible, bless their hearts, has given me five of each of my audio books to give away. Not Crazy Little Thing Called Dead, yet, because it’s still in the final phases of production. But the other two.

So! For the first two (one of each) I’m going to do pretty much the same thing I did for the paperback giveaway. Comment here, or on the facebook post – pretty much wherever I can see it and I’ll do a random drawing for each.

You might want to say which book you want if either isn’t okay. And be goofy. You don’t have to make me laugh, but it’s a bonus.

Tell me about your life, or what you had for breakfast, or your summer vacation plans. Give me something here, people. Or not. The drawing will be random.

When is the drawing? Let’s say after I get back from California, but before I go to Colorado Springs. How’s that?

June 18.

Comment away. Yes you. I see you lurking there. It really doesn’t hurt. Just type “Froot Loops and soda pop.” and you’re done. See? Easy.

6/18 ETA: Congratulations to Joanne and Cathy (who commented on facebook). They each win a copy of one of my audiobooks! yay! balloons! Ribbons! Confetti!

Breakfast was 1 Van’s Organic Blueberry Waffle with REAL Maple syrup, 4 eggs, 5 mushrooms 3 cloves of garlic, onion, jalapeno and 1/2 slice of Bacon. Yes, this really was my breakfast! I cook one big breakfast a week and it either falls on Saturday or Sunday. I eat a 1/4c oatmeal with a fruit the rest of the week.

For summer vacation I would like to take a fall cooking class.
It’s hard to read and walk so any book would be awesome to me!

“Froot Loops and soda pop.”
Man, don’t I just wish I could still have that for breakfast! I’ve given up soda pretty much completely. Froot Loops, dry, make good snacking, though. Just saying. (Probably better for me than the straight up chocolate bar I just had. What? It’s what was on hand. I think I need to grocery plan better.)

And, yay for audiobooks! My husband & I are in a commuter-marriage situation again, so there’s lots of driving between our home and his apartment. He and I trade off audiobooks, although he drives way more than I do (part of his job), so he always has more audiobooks to recommend and share than I do. Did you read for the audiobook? I hope so — I love hearing authors read their own material (except for Tony Hillerman who reads in a monotone – deadly dull listening while driving!)

No. I didn’t do the reading. It’s so time intensive and I need to be writing. However, Sara Mackie, the actress that did the reading is fabulous, really good. So it’s way better that she did it that I.

Maybe I’ll read some of my short stories and post them on my website. Oh that’s a great idea. I’ll put it on my list!

I’d love to hear your short stories! More yay!

I don’t do audio books because NOISE MIGHT WAKE THE BABY and I only get to read if she’s unconscious. I just had to drop in and say that when I was at the library this morning I saw a paperback called A Crazy Little Thing Called Death and I wanted to rip it up and shout Stop pretending to be, Kate! You suck!

Kate George June 10, 2013 at 12:10 am

It’s okay, Lora. I’m feeling very generous today so I’m glad you didn’t tear up that “other” book! Next time just walk over to the Librarian and tell her how disappointed you are that they don’t have my books and maybe they’ll order them!

By the way, your post says it’s June 18. You had me confused there for a minute!
There’s just a TIME change from here to there, you aren’t THAT far away! LOL

June 18? Oh that’s just the day I’m giving away the first two audio books!

“Froot Loops and soda pop.”
You knew how to spell Froot Loops correctly? Did you sit at the breakfast table reading the cereal boxes over breakfast like I did as a kid? That’s where I learned to love to read. It allowed me to escape from the reality of 7 siblings who were cranky in the morning so breakfast was pretty chaotic, to say the least.
I still love to read and listen to audio books.
Kate, I just finished reading “Moonlight in Vermont” on my kindle. I have to use the kindle to enlarge the type enough to see it. I get double vision so reading has become more difficult. I have a lot of time now so reading and audio books keep me sane!!
I would LOVE a free audio book of “California Schemin’ ” if you still have one to give away.
I live in Woodstock, VT, worked at The Vermont Standard, our weekly paper and my husband was the editor there for 31 years. Boy did that story hit me. He passed away 3 years ago next week. It brought back so many memories of deadlines and other weird and wonderful stories about flatlanders and locals. Thank you for that.
The Whispering Birches Inn reminded me so much of the exclusive and illusive “Twin Farms” in Barnard.
I hope your trip to California makes you rich and famous so you can stay there some day and then tell us stories about what it’s REALLY like behind those gates!
So, good luck in Cali. and have some fun. It’s awfully cold and wet here this spring.
And than you for such a great story! I look forward to more.
Love & Light.

It will not surprise you to learn that I used to work at the illusive and exclusive TF!

Joanne Boyle June 8, 2013 at 9:18 pm

Ah, so you already know the place from the inside. Your book gave a glimpse of that then? Thank you again for a wonderful read!
