Blindsided – or – The Movie From Hell

in Movie Review

I have never in my life been so blindsided by a movie as I was by One Day starring Anne Hathaway and Jim Sturgess. If you want to see this movie then go away now and don’t come back until you’ve watched it because I’m writing a huge spoiler in the next paragraph. Go away.

Okay, have you seen it now? Good. But if you don’t like it when I swear then either skip the next sentence or come back another day. Because boy am I going to swear. Right now.

Oh my fucking god! I am so mad at this movie I could just punch the idiot who billed this as a romance. In my world romance has a HEA (happily ever after). In no way does HEA happen when YOU KILL OFF YOUR LEADING LADY three quarters of the way through the movie. Talk about blindsided. There was one point where I was worried about her safety, and then that moment passed. The minute I relaxed they killed her. WTF. No let me say that out loud. What The Fuck! I wasn’t watching a bleeding horror movie for cripes sake.

It wasn’t Aliens where just about everybody dies before the end. To say I’m pissed is an understatement. Perhaps you could tell. Do Not Promise Me Romance And Then Kill The Leading Lady. It will not go well for you.

That film ruined my evening. I have to go to bed now and I hope to heck I don’t have nightmares. Jesus, the woman was hit by a bus right in front of my eyes. What were they thinking?

I read about it when it came out and knew it would be frustrating and tragic a la City of Angels (I am STILL PISSED ABOUT THAT ONE he gave up immortality to screw meg ryan one lousy time before a logging truck nailed her on her bike????)

Oh Yes! I’m waiting for my daughter to home from Belgium so I can go see Brave with her. I’m sure it will be much better than One Day!

Okay. Crossing that one off the list. That is just mean. Really mean. I think I’m going to see Brave if I go see a movie.
