AWAL as Apposed to AWOL

in Entertaining nonsense and profound thought

AWAL meaning Away With Approval Leave. If you are reading this the weekend this post is supposed to go up then I am at Bouchercon in Albany, New York. (I realize that some people go back and read things later, so… if you are reading this later. I’m sorry. You missed it.)

Come visit me.

I’m on a panel Friday morning at 10:20 am in Room 4 (most probably).

See Kate Talk.

See Kate Blush.

See Kate Flee the Room when the Panel is Over.

The trouble is that I never know what’s going to come out of my mouth. I plan. I give myself pep talks. I make notes. And then someone asks an interesting question and it all goes out the window. With hand gestures.

You should come. If I don’t freeze and clam right up it will probably be amusing. For you. Not so much for me.

Thanks Ladies,

It went well, although I did leave early due to a death in the family. Karen B. was there and she tells me I did okay. I connected with some readers, and I think I was pretty social even though I spent a little time hiding in the room. Everyone needs a break now and then!

Usually the kind of unplanned comments are the ones that are the best!

How did it go? And why did I see a tweet about you hiding in the hotel room?

Sounds like (according to inkgrrl) it’s a great event! 😉
