At the Corner of Overwhelm and Disconnect

in Entertaining nonsense and profound thought

As you know I became very important a week ago by starting a job at a major teaching museum at an important ivy league college. Yes, now I can wander the galleries at my leisure expanding my mind in my free time. Only there is no free time. Not yet, anyway. And my brain shuts down regularly because it is not elastic enough. It can’t expand enough to hold the information I’m expecting it to. The rigidity of my brain makes me feel old, and way less important. The later is probably a good thing. No one likes a self-important newbie.

Still, things are good. And I swear given another couple of weeks I’ll be able to get back to writing, posting my blogs on time and doing other things I love. Like catching up on my Scrabble games. Until then it will be catch as catch can – but on the up side I think I’ll be sharing a lot more art with you. And art is a thing that I love…

For those of you who haven’t read my books yet you could do this now, while my posting is sporadic. And there’s always reading the archive or the blogs I posted on Notes From the Madhouse before I started this blog.

Cheers, and be well.

Yay for the new job! Don’t worry: the mental elasticity will return as your brain gets used to processing all the new and different information. The art will help.

Soooo happy for your job, but sad for the lost writing time. It’s a toss-up, but we’ll go with cheering. Yay, job!

Ooohh! ART!!! Yes, please on the pictures (try to hike over when the weather is better and get a picture of the Diego Rivera mural). And no worries on the time off from the blog. We’ll still be here.
