A Good Day

March 12, 2012 · 7 comments

Remind me. I must, must, must figure out better titles for my posts. No I mean it, how am I ever going to be famous if I can’t title a post properly?

I’ve been turning over blog topics in my mind today. Which should I write about. The scary crazy weather where one day is 60 degrees and the next is 30? Driving home in a virtual whiteout because of a freak snow storm at the end of said 60 degree day? Finishing a short story, sending it and then realizing it needs more tweaking? Or the fabulous day I had today, attending an SinC New England reading as one of the readers? Bingo! That’s the one.

First of all, one of my BFFs drove with me up to Montpelier, so I didn’t have to go alone. That in itself could have made my day. I have such great friends. I really do. But I also got to hear a bunch of other writers read WIPs. What a talented group. Amazing stuff, and so diverse. That was a lot of fun. AND I read well (I don’t always do well at readings. I get nervous, or put off, or… who knows. It just doesn’t always work out well.) To top it all off I got a lot of compliments on my published works, and people who heard me read said they liked my voice, both as a writer and as a reader. So now I’m in seventh heaven. It was a good day.

Also, I was watching the one clock in the house that had not been changed and left late. But miracle of miracles, I wasn’t late to the reading. So it was a win all the way around.

How was your Sunday?

Winter? Did we have winter? ‘Cause I totally missed it if we did. And I think I missed spring too. It’s just not supposed to be 75 degrees in March. That’s just wrong.

I like blizzards too except for the year we had five and for all of them my husband was out of town. Every single one.

Happy day!!

and thanks for educating me on free rein/free reign. I never knew that and I (she says shamefacedly) was an English teacher. (That was serious, not sarcastic thanks. Because I know I do sarcasm quite a bit.)

No worries! I spelled Rein wrong and Nan had to straighten me out too! We’re all just teaching each other… It’s a good thing.

Yay! Sounds like a wonderful day to me! Congratulations are in order.

(How long have you lived in NE? You should be used to this weather by now.)

Since ’96. But this is the strangest winter we’ve ever seen.

’96? That was the Year O’Blizzards, wasn’t it? I’ll take this winter over that one any time.

I love blizzards! Especially when it means I can’t do all the running around normally required of moms. This hasn’t been a BAD winter, just a STRANGE one. Excuse my yelling!
